Maria Katris

Maria Christopoulos Katris is Co-Founder and CEO of Built In, the Employer Intelligence Platform helping companies understand and improve how they are discovered and perceived across search and AI. For more than 15 years, Maria has worked at the intersection of talent acquisition, employer branding, and technology, building Built In from a Chicago-based tech community into a global platform serving more than 1,800 companies, from startups to Fortune 500 organizations.

Today, Maria is focused on one of the biggest shifts happening in talent acquisition: how AI is changing the way candidates discover, research, and evaluate employers. Her work explores the growing connection between employer visibility, reputation, candidate behavior, and recruiting outcomes—and what TA and employer brand teams can do as the candidate journey increasingly moves into AI-powered search and discovery.

Maria holds a BS from Miami University and an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management. She has been recognized by Crain’s Chicago as one of its 40 Under 40 and serves on the advisory board of Miami University’s Altman School of Entrepreneurship.
