Matt Staney is the Vice President of Community (USA) at Talentful, where he leads the HIGHER Community, a network of over 12,000 senior talent acquisition leaders. With nearly 20 years of experience in talent acquisition and employer branding, Matt has a proven track record of driving growth, fostering relationships, and building communities that elevate the talent acquisition profession.
Prior to joining Talentful, Matt spent the last 10 years founding and leading Proactive Talent, an embedded RPO offering a full creative agency as well as fractional consulting and staffing services that helped over 500 companies modernize their recruitment and employer branding strategies. He is also the founder of Talent Brand Alliance, the first professional community dedicated to employer branding practitioners, where he facilitates knowledge exchange and collaboration among industry peers.
Matt is deeply passionate about community-building, relationship management, and creating spaces where talent professionals can share insights, learn, and grow together. In his current role, he leverages his extensive experience in community engagement, go-to-market strategy, and content leadership to grow and nurture the HIGHER Community and ensure its members have the resources, tools, and connections they need to navigate the evolving recruiting landscape.
With a strong foundation in sales, marketing, and recruitment technology, Matt’s approach focuses on building strategic partnerships, driving innovation, and fostering collaboration among senior talent leaders.
